British Open Shogi Championships 2026

Event Information (14 - 15 February 2026)

The London Shogi club is delighted to announce a 2 day British Open Shogi Championships tournament on the weekend of 14-15 February 2026. 

The tournament is open to players of all abilities and of all nationalities.

We will also be arranging a dinner on the Saturday night. Please let us know if you wish to attend this when you register to help us plan numbers.

Event Format Schedule (Provisional)

The tournament will be a 7 round Swiss-based tournament with one or more tournament (McMahon) groups. 

Time limit: 40 minutes with 30 seconds byo-yomi

Saturday 14th Feb

12:00 - 13:00 Lunch break
13:00 - 18:00 Rounds 2 - 4

Sunday 15th Feb

Entry Fee

£30 (£20 discounted rate for beginners who have not played in a tournament before)

London Mindsports Center, 21 Dalling Rd, London W6 0JD

The nearest tube station is Ravenscourt Park. The two Hammersmith stations are a bit further away.  It takes 30-50 minutes to get to the venue from the main London railway stations, and 40 minutes from Heathrow airport.

It will be a combined Tournament and Teaching Event. Summary                         Felix McPeake won the main event with a perfect 5/5 score.
