2024 British Shogi Championship Result

Results Steven Cain is the 2024 British Shogi Champion with a perfect score in the championships.  Close behind him, Felix McPeake took a clear second place.  3rd, 4th and 5th were level on points, and went to Richard Haas, Kotaro Hirota and Kevin Butchart respectively. 2024 British Open Championship

Results Steven Cain is the 2024 British Shogi Champion. Felix McPeake took second place. The full results can be found here:  Full Results Thank you to everyone who participated in the tournament, especially those who traveled far to join us.  Photos Tournament Information (26 - 27 October 2024) The London Shogi Club will host the 2024 British Open Shogi Championships on the weekend of 26/27 October 2024. This tournament is open to players of all abilities and of all nationalities.  The winner will be the British open champion, and if they are not a UK resident or citizen then the title of British closed champion will be awarded to the highest placed UK entrant.  We will also be arranging a dinner on the Saturday night. 2024 ISF Qualification Results

2024 ISF UK Qualification Tournament Results  Six players competed on 18 May 2024     for chance to represent the UK at the International Shogi Forum to be held in Tokyo, Japan, in November 2024.  After 3 hard fought rounds, Felix McPeake emerged as the clear winner as the only unbeaten player.   1 Felix McPeake 4+ 3+ 2+ 3 2 Stephen Lamb 6+ 5+ 1- 2 3 Chris Greetham 5+ 1- 4+ 2 4 Andrew Mcgettigan 1- 6+ 3- 1 5 Kevin Butchart 3- 2- 6+ 1 6 Natasha Regan 2- 4- 5- 0 Further matches were played to determine lower placings, in a fourth round on the day, and an online follow-up game, confirming that Stephen Lamb would take second place.   A great performance from Felix, and some very skilful shogi from everybody.  We hope Felix can continue his winning ways at the International Shogi Forum.

You can find the tournament report and results  here Tournament Information The British Shogi Federation has been asked to provide a UK representative for the International Shogi Forum to be held in Tokyo, Japan, in November 2024.  The representative will be provided with travelling expenses, and food and accommodation for the duration of the event.  We are holding a qualification tournament on 18 May 2024.
